Endurance has been the theme for this month! Always good to start the year with an easy one!!

The children were introduced to many people they may have heard of in history, who had to endure shame, hardship or humiliation because of their hopes and dreams. Walt Disney, being one; who was sacked from his first job, at the ‘Kansas City Star’, because they told him his cartoons….wait for it….were not creative enough!!

We spoke about how we all have ‘cheer-leaders’ in our lives. Those people who believe in us and think we can achieve anything. However, there will be times when we have those people who will try and deter us from the path we are to take, or even we ourselves, can give up on the dreams we have.

We looked at this verse:…” for the joy set before Him, He endured the cross…” (Hebrews 12 v 2)

Why was Jesus able to endure what He did? What was that ‘joy’ that was keeping His gaze fixed on reaching the end? US! We were.

” For God SO loved the world, that He gave His only Son. That all who believe in Him shall not die, but inherit eternal life.” (John 3 v 16)

Next month we will be focusing on REST.
